Dr. Chan has been working in British Columbia since she graduated from the University of Waterloo School of Optometry program in 2007. She is passionate about the profession of Optometry and is also involved within the profession through volunteer and humanitarian work including serving on the public relations committee with the British Columbia Association of Optometrists.
Dr. Chan excels at providing her patients thorough eye and vision examinations and enjoys spending extra time to counsel patients with complex issues. Special interests in Optometry include pediatrics, orthokeratology (AOK) and specialty contact lens fits. Dr Chan is also fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin and would be happy to see anyone requiring and eye exam who speaks these languages.
Dr. Chan occasionally travels to rural Northern B.C. to provide eye care services to under-serviced communities. She has been involved in humanitarian optometry missions at the F.I.S.H. clinic in Kingston, Jamaica and most recently in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. When not practicing Optometry, Dr. Chan is an avid marathon runner and also enjoys hiking, yoga, and cooking. She also loves traveling and has already visited Europe, Asia, Central America, and the Caribbeans.
