Dr. Mowbray completed a double major in his undergraduate studies: a Bachelor of Science at the University of Waterloo and a Bachelor of Business Administration at Wilfrid Laurier University. He then went on to get his Doctorate of Optometry at the University of Waterloo, graduating in 1999.
In late 1999, Dr Mowbray moved to Vancouver and joined Dr Robin Simpson at MPOC. In 2006, Dr. Mowbray took on full ownership of the clinic, and proceeded to expand the practice to match the growth, and diversity, of our neighbourhood.
In early 2020, Dr Mowbray retired from seeing patients; he instead worked on the recent expansion to our new 4800 ft2 space, and our new staff patio (a first of it’s kind in BC). Although he works much less these days, he continues to help with some of the clinic’s building and maintenance issues as needed, so you’ll still run into him here from time to time.
These days, Dr Mowbray mostly enjoys time at home in North Vancouver with his family and pets. His hobbies include collecting and spinning vinyl records, golf, yoga, paddleboarding, and world travel.
