Dr. Mowbray completed a double major in his undergraduate studies: a Bachelor of Science at the University of Waterloo and a Bachelor of Business Administration at Wilfrid Laurier University. He then went on to get his Doctorate of Optometry at the University of Waterloo, graduating with the class of 1999.
After graduating he moved to Vancouver and joined Dr. Robin Simpson here at MPOC as an associate. In 2006, Dr. Mowbray took over ownership of the clinic, and proceeded to expand the practice to match the growth, and diversity, of our neighbourhood.
In 2018 the clinic first expanded from 2 exams rooms to 4, and in 2023 expanded again to our current location where we now enjoy 7 exam rooms, 5 pretest rooms, a dedicated Contact Lens room, and a patio for our staff to enjoy. Dr Mowbray has retired from seeing patients since 2020, but continues to oversee some of the clinic’s building and maintenance issues for us these days.
Dr Mowbray enjoys time with his family and cats. His hobbies include collecting vinyl records, dj’ing, golf, yoga, paddle boarding, and world travel.
