Dr. Mowbray completed a double major in his undergraduate studies: a Bachelor of Science at the University of Waterloo and a Bachelor of Business Administration at Wilfrid Laurier University. He then went on to get his Doctorate of Optometry at the University of Waterloo.
After graduating he moved to Vancouver in late 1999 and joined Dr. Robin Simpson here at MPOC as an associate. In 2006, Dr. Mowbray took over ownership of the clinic, and proceeded to expand the practice to match the growth, and diversity, of the neighbourhood.
Now, 17 years later, our Team has grown to a total of 40 hardworking people, and we serve approximately 75,000 patients. As such, we have now outgrown our current space, so Dr Mowbray is working hard on moving the clinic to an expanded, 4500 sq ft space, located at 450 East Broadway.
*As of 2020 Dr. Mowbray has stopped seeing patients, but he can still be found around the clinic where he enjoys meeting and catching up with our patients and long-term supporters. His hobbies include vinyl records, dj’ing, hiking, paddleboarding, golf, travel, and bengal cats.
You will now find us at our new and improved clinic at 450 East Broadway, just a few blocks east, on the corner of East Broadway and Guelph St.
We now have 15 underground parking spots reserved for staff and patients. In addition, there is free parking beside the clinic on Guelph Street all day, and in front of the clinic on East Broadway between 10am and 3pm.
