At Mt. Pleasant Optometry our Doctors of Optometry strive to provide timely care for patients experiencing urgent eye concerns during our regular business hours. Please call our office and we will help determine the timeframe in which you need to be seen (in-person or via telemedicine) and schedule you accordingly. 

Symptoms that require emergency service include, but are not limited to:

• Foreign body in the eye
• “Pink eye”
• Sudden vision loss in one or both eyes
• Flashes or floaters in vision
• Sudden and severe eye pain
• Persistent discharge, burning or itching
• Chemical exposure to your eyes
• Torn or dislodged contact lenses

Should you experience any ocular emergency that requires immediate attention outside our business hours, we ask that you visit the nearest Emergency Room as they have ophthalmologists on call.
